Capital U: Start just below the top line on the left with a small hook. Pull down, curve around the baseline, and go up to the top line on the right. Pull straight down to the baseline and swing up to join. Lowercase u: Start at the baseline and swing up to the midline. Pull down, curve along the baseline, and swing up to the midline again. Pull straight down to the baseline and swing up.

Tip: Make the tops of u pointed and the bottoms round. Round tops make it look like an n.

Joining: Lowercase u ends at the baseline with a swing up. To join into u, swing up to the midline and pull straight down.
