Tips for teaching a child to write their name
- Write the first letter as a capital and the rest in lowercase, the way it will look in school.
- Practice the letters of the name one at a time first. Every letter has its own page in letter tracing with the stroke order.
- Trace a few times, then write it once without the guide. Short, daily practice works better than long sessions.
- Older children can switch to cursive; see the cursive alphabet for each letter.
