Cursive alphabet
Here is the whole cursive alphabet, capital and lowercase. Lowercase cursive letters start with a curve up from the baseline and end with a curve that joins the next letter. Most leave from the baseline; b, o, v and w leave from the midline. Tap a letter to see how to write it, trace it, and print a worksheet.

In what order should you learn cursive letters?
Start with the lowercase letters that share a shape, not with a. Many teachers group them by their first stroke: the undercurve letters (i, t, u, w, e, l), then the downcurve letters that start like an oval (a, c, d, g, o, q), then the overcurve letters (n, m, x, y, v, z), and the rest last. Capitals come after the lowercase letters are steady.
Tips for neat cursive
- Slant every tall stroke the same way, a little to the right. The faint slant lines on the worksheets help.
- Keep the joins thin and low, rising from the baseline to where the next letter starts.
- Write the whole word first, then dot the i and j and cross the t and x.
Practice cursive with your name in cursive, on cursive handwriting paper, or go further with calligraphy and hand lettering.
